Good Afternoon!!

I hope everyone enjoyed their long weekend!!

ReadingWe will be continue with Unit 7: The City Mouse and the Country Mouse.  We will focus on identifying long and short.  We will continue to count out how many syllables are in a word.  We will be distinguishing between word lengths and capital letters at the beginning of sentences. We will continue to recognize rhyming words.

Math- We will be work on adding (Ex. If I have 3 bears and add 2 more. How many bears do I have now?). We will be practicing writing numbers 0-15.  We will be practicing counting to 100. We will continue to learn the parts of the calendar (days of the week, months of the year, yesterday, today, and tomorrow). We will be practicing drawing our shapes (circle, square, rectangle, triangle, diamond, and oval).  

Religion–   We will introduce Lesson 13: Come Follow Me.  We will continue to read bible stories of the miracles of Jesus.  We will continue to practice our prayers the Sign of the Cross, Glory Be, Hail Mary, The Our Father, and the Guardian Angel Prayer. We will practice genuflecting.

Science/Social Studies– We will be focusing on “Where Do We Live?” unit.  We will focusing on looking at the globe and where we are on the globe.  Students will be able to point to the United States of America on the globe.  We will look at the map of the United States and find the state of Maryland.  We will look at a map of Maryland and be able to find we go to school in St. Mary’s County.


*Thursday, March 12– Papa John’s Pizza Day  

Pizza forms were due today!! Forms came home last Wednesday in your child’s daily folder. If you didn’t turn in a pizza form by today, your child must pack a lunch.  There is no lunch being served from the cafeteria.

*Please be aware of the changing weather and that your child is dressed appropriately.

*Please remember library books are due on Wednesdays.  You may have your child turn in their library book earlier if you would like.

*Please label all your child’s belongings.

*I know rest time can be challenging for the students who do not take naps any more. Students may have one stuffed animal that does not make noise and/or a book for rest time. 

*Please check your child’s folder daily.
