Parents: I hope this weekly update finds you all getting ready and excited for Thanksgiving!! The students are aware, but I wanted to let you know that I will be out on Monday and Tuesday and Mrs. Kelly will be holding down the fort. My father in law is ill and we are headed to Massachusetts to see him in the hospital before the holiday rush on the highways. Thank you for your prayers and continued support everyday! 🙂
Students: Keep up the great work and work hard for Mrs. Kelly while you take a break from regular lessons! Thank you in advance for great behavior and completed assignments! You guys rock!! Happy Thanksgiving!
6th grade: This week we learned all about decimals! We can now read, write, compare, round, read them on a number line, and perform all operations using decimals. We also had a tricky unit on the metric system. The students did a great job! Next week we will “Save some Turkeys” to practice additional decimal work and use coordinates to create a Thanksgiving surprise on a coordinate plane. HW this weekend is a take home test 7A. You may use notes, books and calculators. I only ask that you do not use calculators for #s 15-20.
7th grade: This week we learned all about different shapes and how to calculate their area, multiplying and dividing integers, combining like terms and the properties of equality to solve equations. Next week we will save “Mathhattan” from the “Terrible Turkey Takeover” and use coordinates to create a Thanksgiving surprise on a coordinate plane. HW this weekend is a take home test 8A. You may use notes, books and calculators. I only ask that you do not use calculators for #s 15-20.
8th grade: This week we learned how to write and use linear equations in slope-intercept form. Next week we will be use slope and graphing for some Thanksgiving fun. HW is (for turn in!!) skilled practice p. 236 – 238 #s 4, 6, 10, 12, 14, 17, 22, 24, 28, and 48.
Please email any questions or concerns 🙂
I wish you all a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving!!
