April 1-5

Good Evening!!  I hope everyone had a good weekend!! It is not too late if you haven’t sent in your child’s baby pic and recent photo.  If anyone needs me to print them out, let me know.

Reading   We will finish Unit 9: Peter and the Wolf.  We will continue to focus on letters U, u, V, v, W, and w. We will be practicing writing our letters and name. We will clap out words to see how many syllables certain words have.

Math- We will be doing math activity using dice. We will continue practice writing our numbers. We will continue to learn the concept of more than and less than, and equal.  We will continue to learn the parts of the calendar (days of the week, months of the year, yesterday, today, and tomorrow).  We will be using manipulatives to count objects to 20.   We will continue with drawing shapes and recognizing how many sides each shape has. 

Religion– We will introduce Lesson 16: God Should Come First in Our Lives.  We will also, continue our discussion about Lent and coloring our Stations of the Cross booklet.  We will continue to practice the Hail Mary, Our Father, the Sign of the Cross, the Glory Be, Guardian Angel Prayer, and genuflecting.

Science- We will read “Are You My Mother?” in My Big World with Clifford.  In this issue we will talk about baby animals and their mothers.  We are observing our green bean plants.  We are starting to see some sprouts!!

Social Studies– We will continue our unit, Where We Live? We will continue to focus this week on we live in a country called The United States of America.


*Donations for the Musical are due by Friday, April 5.

*I know rest time can be challenging for the students who do not take naps any more. Students may have one stuffed animal that does not make noise and/or a book for rest time. 

*Please remember library books are due on Mondays.  If your child finishes their book before the following Monday, they may return it earlier.

*Please check your child’s folder daily.
