I hope everyone had a great weekend!! ? Mrs. Kane and I are working on reading and math assessments.
Reading– We will continue letter and sound recognition. We will be practicing writing our letters and name. We will introduce Unit 7: The City Mouse and the Country Mouse. In this unit, we will focus on the letters Oo, Pp, and Qq. We learn words are made up of smaller parts called syllables. We will clap out words to see how many syllables certain words have.
Math- We will make AB, ABB, and ABC patterns with linking cubes. We will continue to learn the parts of the calendar (days of the week, months of the year, yesterday, today, and tomorrow). We will be using manipulatives to count objects to 20. We will continue with drawing shapes and recognizing how many sides each shape has. We will be practicing writing the numbers 0-10.
Religion– We will start Lesson 11: Jesus is God the Son. We will be learning there are 2 parts to the bible, the Old Testament and the New Testament. We will continue to practice the Hail Mary, Our Father, the Sign of the Cross, the Glory Be, Guardian Angel Prayer, and genuflecting.
Science-We will continue discussing winter and hibernation. We will be doing a science experiment where we make snow in our sensory table.
*I know rest time can be challenging for the students who do not take naps any more. Students may have one stuffed animal that does not make noise and/or a book for rest time.
*Please remember library books are due on Mondays. If your child finishes their book before the following Monday, they may return it earlier.
*Please check your child’s folder daily.
