I hope everyone had a great weekend!! ? We finally have a full week of school!

Reading– We will continue letter and sound recognition. We will be practicing writing our letters and name. We will finish up Unit 6: The Nightingale.
Math- We will continue to make AB color patterns (Ex. red, blue, red, blue). We will continue to learn the parts of the calendar (days of the week, months of the year, yesterday, today, and tomorrow). We will be using manipulatives to count objects to 20. We will continue with drawing shapes and recognizing how many sides each shape has. We will be practicing writing the numbers 0-10.
Religion– Today, we talked about the Epiphany, which was celebrated yesterday in the Catholic Church. We talked about how the Christmas season is 12 days long. Tomorrow, we will introduce Lesson 10: Prayer. This lesson focuses on how Jesus taught us how to pray. We will continue to practice the Hail Mary, Our Father, the Sign of the Cross, the Glory Be, Guardian Angel Prayer, and genuflecting.
Science-We will continue discussing winter and hibernation. We will be doing a science experiment with ice cubes and observing the melting process .
*I know rest time can be challenging for the students who do not take naps any more. Students may have one stuffed animal that does not make noise and/or a book for rest time.
*Please remember library books are due on Mondays. If your child finishes their book before the following Monday, they may return it earlier.
*Please check your child’s folder daily.
