I hope everyone had a great weekend and enjoyed the snow day today!! ?
Please label all your child’s clothing (fleece jackets, sweatshirts, hats, gloves, etc.)
Reading– We will continue letter and sound recognition. We will be practicing writing our letters and name. We will introduce Unit 6: The Nightingale.
Math- We will continue to make AB color patterns (Ex. red, blue, red, blue). We will continue to learn the parts of the calendar (days of the week, months of the year, yesterday, today, and tomorrow). We will be using manipulatives to count objects to 20. We will continue with drawing shapes and recognizing how many sides each shape has. We will be practicing writing the numbers 6-10.
Religion– We will introduce Lesson 20: 2nd Week of Advent-Mary Said, “Yes” to God. We will light 2 purple candles in our classroom Advent wreath. We will continue to practice the Hail Mary, Our Father, the Sign of the Cross, the Glory Be, Guardian Angel Prayer, and genuflecting.
Social Studies– We will be looking at the globe and discussing where we live. We will discuss the Earth is covered by land and water. We will be looking to see where China is on the globe since our story, “The Nightingale” takes place there.
Science-We continue using our senses to see if they can guess what is in the bag? The class loved this activity and wanted to do it again!!
Tuesday, December 11-Advent Lessons and Carols- 6:30pm
Please have your child in the gym by 6:15 pm. Pre-K will be sitting in the front.
*I know rest time can be challenging for the students who do not take naps any more. Students may have one stuffed animal that does not make noise and/or a book for rest time.
*Please remember library books are due on Mondays. If your child finishes their book before the following Monday, they may return it earlier.
*Please check your child’s folder daily.
