8th Grade Homeroom

Student Council speeches/elections are tomorrow at 1:00

Fall Festival is THIS Friday!!  Looking forward to the 8th grade picture on the hayride!!!

The Confirmation Retreat will be March 25th and 26th.  More details to come.

8th Grade’s last day of school will be Thursday, May 30th.  Graduation will be on Monday, June 3rd.

I have created a Facebook group for our class.  It is a closed group where I will post pictures of the fun things we are doing at school.  If you would like to join the group, please look for Mrs. Engel’s 8th Grade.  This is just for parents/guardians.

6th Grade:

Reading: finish the bubble map using 5 adjectives to describe Via’s relationship with August using textual evidence to back up your explanations.

English: finish the Topic Sentence practice sheets 

 

7th Grade: Reading: none

English: Pick your top three from your brainstorming worksheet.  Think about the elements talked about today in class and relate them to the three you pick.

****It is time to purchase 7 Riddles to NoWhere by A.J. Catapan*** Please have this book with you in class by October 15th.

English: Final copy of paper is due on Wednesday.  Please attach your 2nd draft to the back of your final copy.

***Starting tomorrow, Ms. Allie Harper will be student teaching during 7th Grade English for the next 3 weeks.  I am so excited for this great opportunity to help Ms. Harper as she works towards her teaching certification.***

8th Grade:    ***It is time to purchase To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee.  Please have this in class by Monday, October 15th.***  

Reading: Your foldable for A Single Bead will be assembled tomorrow.  Please make sure you have all the information ready to be written inside.  It is due tomorrow at the end of class.

English: Rewrite the model on page 121 picking with a different organization.  Look at the different types on page 126
