Good Afternoon!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and was able to enjoy the beautiful weather!!

Here is what we will be doing in Pre-K this week ?.

Reading We will be introducing Unit 2, “The Three Bears.”  We will be introducing the concepts of small, medium, and large. We will be practicing writing letters Aa-Dd this week.

Math- We will continue to learn the parts of the calendar (days of the week, months of the year, yesterday, today, and tomorrow).  We will be using manipulatives to count objects to 20.  We will be practicing writing the number 1 and 2 this week.  We will continue with drawing shapes and recognizing how many sides each shape has.

Religion– We will continue Lesson 4: Actions and Attitudes-The Ten Commandments. The bible story we will be reading comes from Matthew 19:16-22, “The Rich Young Man.” We will continue to practice the Sign of the Cross, the Glory Be, and genuflecting. I will be introducing the “Our Father” prayer

Science– We will be talking about the seasons of the year and Fall.   Please send in any signs of fall you might see for our Science Center.

Social Studies– We will have Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department here on Wednesday, Oct. 3!! We will learn about fire safety.  Thank you to all who have contributed food and drink items for our firefighters.



*Friday, October 5 – Please remember everyone must pack lunches.  There will be no lunch served due to the set up for the Spaghetti Dinner.  We will eat lunch in our classrooms.

*Tuesday, October 30– Forrest Hall Farms Field Trip- Parents are welcome to meet us there. We will be at the farm 9:30- 11:30am. Field trip forms will be coming home the week of October 15th.

*Please remember library books are due on Mondays.  If your child finishes their book before the following Monday, they may return it earlier.

*Please check your child’s folder daily.

*We do provide snack every day, but if you choose to send a snack from home, please label the item as snack or put into a separate lunch box.  Some children are thinking they can eat their lunch for snack.
