December 11-15

Good Evening!  I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

Here is what your child will be doing in Pre-K this week!

Math– We will continue to focus on one to one correspondence by counting objects.   We will practice writing our numbers 0-9. We will continue working on sorting. We will look at ways to group objects (size, color, and shape).  We will introduce the number 10. We will practice making shapes with various objects.

Reading– We will continue Unit 4, The Elves and the Shoemaker.  We will be working on the letters Gg and Hh.

Religion– We will begin Lesson 20: Second Week of Advent: Mary said, “Yes” to God. We have an Advent Wreath in our classroom. We will be lighting a candle each day and saying a prayer to get our hearts ready for the birth of Jesus.  We start Religion with “The Glory Be”. At snack and lunch, we say the “Grace Before Meals” prayer. Our morning prayer is the “Our Father”.

Science: We will be talking about what animals hibernate.


*Library books are due on Mondays. If your child finishes reading their library book before Monday, they can turn it in earlier.

* Please remember to label your child’s clothing.

* Tuesday, December 12- Advent and Carols 6:30 pm.  Please have your child in the Pre-K classroom by 6:15 pm.

*Thursday, December 14- Polar Express Day! We will watch the Polar Express in the morning and have hot chocolate and cookies. Have your child come to school in their pajamas!!!  A flyer with more information came home today in your child’s folder.

*Friday, December 15- Christmas Craft Day!  Remember to get your tickets!!
