Happy Thanksgiving!!

There is no homework during the break!!

Parents of 6th English, today I game the students some information about our research project.  We will be doing a living wax museum!!  I am super excited about it and I can’t wait to see who we have in our museum.  I gave the kids a list of suggestions and they are free to find someone else as long as that person is of good moral character and has a positive legacy or display of leadership and have enough information about their lives published.  I would like them to pick someone they are interested in, as well as someone who has made a significant impact on the world in which we live. I would like them to stay away from more current pop culture or sports figures.  I really want to see them do some research and learn something new along the way. I sent the introduction packet home today. They are to research 4 different people and pick one of those 4. They may choose to research more but 4 is all that is required.  This is not due until December 8th but I thought they could ask family and friends over the holiday their opinion or even who they admire for some ideas.  I will give them the next packet for their research on the 8th.  We will have time in class and in some of their other classes to do the work although some may have to be done at home.  Our wax museum day is tentatively scheduled for March 21, 2018. I am going to open this up to parents to come in and see our presentations so I will keep you posted on any date changes.  🙂

Parents of 8th Math, I gave your students a little packet of review for the HSPT. They may want to look it over and we  will do some review on Monday and/or Tuesday when we get back to help them study.  We did some practice questions last week and we are right on target for 8th math.  They should all do just fine but I thought we would just review a few topics that they have done before.  This is not for a grade and not mandatory, just for their own study purposes. They are going to do great!! 🙂

Lastly, I  wanted to wish everyone a very happy and blessed Thanksgiving!  I am so thankful for you and your children.  Thank you for allowing me to participate in their growth and education.  Every one of them is a special gift from God and they remind me of His greatness and wonder daily. I will hold each of your families in my heart and prayers this special season.

Love and Prayers,

Jen McCarthy
