December 17-21

Good Evening!!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!! 😊 This week there are many special events as we start celebrating Christmas at school!!   Mrs. Kane and I want to wish all of you and your families a very Merry Christmas. May God bless your families during this Christmas season.

 

Reading   We will continue letter and sound recognition. We will be practicing writing our letters and name. We will continue Unit 6: The Nightingale.

Math- We will continue to make AB color patterns (Ex. red, blue, red, blue).   We will continue to learn the parts of the calendar (days of the week, months of the year, yesterday, today, and tomorrow).  We will be using manipulatives to count objects to 20.   We will continue with drawing shapes and recognizing how many sides each shape has.  We will be practicing writing the numbers 6-10.

Religion– We will introduce Lesson 21: 3rd Week of Advent-Joseph, Jesus’ Father on Earth.  We will light 2 purple candles and 1 pink candle in our classroom Advent wreath. We will continue to practice the Hail Mary, Our Father, the Sign of the Cross, the Glory Be, Guardian Angel Prayer, and genuflecting.

Science-We will be discussing hibernation.

Wednesday, December 19– Pre-K, 1st, and & 2nd – Pajama Day!!!

Please send your child in their pajamas to school!! No slippers, please. Your child should wear “normal” shoes to school. Please note: We will be going outside for recess. Girls that wear a night gown should have leggings on underneath.

 

Thursday, December 20Christmas Craft Day- Craft Day starts at 11:30am.  Pre-K will come up for the craft day after they eat their lunch at 12:00.

 

Friday, December 21– ParaLiturgy in the Church @ 9am – Pre-K will be singing one song at the beginning of the ParaLiturgy.  There will be a Cookie Social after the Para-Liturgy for Pre-K, K, and 1st.

Early Dismissal-12:50 pm.

 

*I know rest time can be challenging for the students who do not take naps any more. Students may have one stuffed animal that does not make noise and/or a book for rest time.

*Please remember library books are due on Mondays.  If your child finishes their book before the following Monday, they may return it earlier.

*Please check your child’s folder daily.
