I hope everyone enjoyed the warm weather over the weekend!!
We will be talking about the sacrament of Baptism this week. If your child was baptized, please send a picture with your child or email it to me. Let your child know who their godparents are if they already don’t know.
Reading–We will continue Unit 5: Jingles, Poems, and Rhymes. We will continue focusing on print and book awareness. We will be distinguishing between word lengths and capital letters at the beginning of sentences. We will be counting sentences and words in sentences. This will assist your child in recognizing sentences. Each sentence starts with an uppercase letter and ends with a punctuation. We will be learning to recognize rhyming words.
Math- We will be practicing writing numbers 0-15. We will be practicing counting to twenty using manipulatives. We will continue to learn the parts of the calendar (days of the week, months of the year, yesterday, today, and tomorrow). We will continue number recognition. We will be practicing drawing our shapes (circle, square, rectangle, triangle, diamond, and oval).
Religion– We will introduce Lesson 8: God’s Family – Baptism. We will learn that through baptism, we come apart of God’s Family. We will be acting out a baptism using our baby doll from our classroom! We will continue to practice our prayers the Sign of the Cross, Glory Be, Hail Mary, The Our Father, and the Guardian Angel Prayer.
Science/Social Studies– We will continue talking about winter and what animals camouflage themselves. We will be looking at the globe and identifying where land and water is on the globe.
